About
Thanks for checking out my website. Here's a bit more about me!
Background
Ever since high school, I was tinkering and building things involving computers. I ended up going to college to become a biomedical engineer, didn't like the biology or the basic engineering courses, and promptly switched to computer science. I've been a software engineer ever since. I've worked at a few different companies, often ending up working on critical backend systems. That's where I find my passion, solving complex problems involving optimization of data transfer.
However, I'd like to talk a bit more about me personally, not just professionally. I've always loved video games. I've sort of been a gamer my whole life, I guess. I would always find myself diving deep into the systems of complex RPG's, trying to figure out how they worked. Due to that, I've been trying to learn as much as I can about game development. I've been working on a few projects, but I'm not quite ready to show them off yet. I'm hoping to have something to show off soon, though!
I also love to travel. I've been to a few different countries, and I'm always looking for new places to go. I've been to a couple different national parks, such as Zion and Arches. Hopefully I can make it a common vacation to visit some new parks. My fiance and I are also planning on getting married in the next year or so, so we're looking forward to that. We visited Edinburgh, Scotland last year and plan to go to Japan for our honeymoon.
Speaking of Japan, I've been learning Japanese for over a year now. 日本語が難しいね. It's been going pretty well. I think I can get the vibe of sentences now, but there's a lot to learn. Hopefully by the time I visit Japan I can have some basic conversations with people.
There's much more to know about me, but I'll let you find out the rest on your own. If you'd like to get in touch, you can find my contact information at the bootom of this page.
